We are seeking a talented individual to join our Client Services Support team at Guy Carpenter. This role will be based in Witham. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
As a XOL Technician, you will support our LAC client base through transactional processing, securing reinsurance recoveries through timely and accurate system entry. Whether you have a curiosity for Reinsurance or you are looking for a change in career, this is the ideal place to learn new skills and an opportunity for you to progress. We have a number of opportunities on a permanent basis.
Although Reinsurance experience would be advantageous, we are considering candidates with proven Insurance premium/claims or underwriting backgrounds who can demonstrate a desire to embark on a career in Reinsurance.
We will count on you to:
- Manage an assigned client portfolio, taking full responsibility of technical duties relating to client accounts, premiums and claims
- Work with Market Fiduciary to assist with collection of funds
- Manage all XOL post, brokerage receivables, funding, retention, e-trading, ad hoc reporting requests, and all transactional process steps
- Promote, build and maintain relationships with Brokers, Clients and Markets
- Participate in training sessions, and provide input within the team and/or department for all aspects of reinsurance service processing to assist with troubleshooting
What you need to have:
- Insurance/Reinsurance Premium/Claims experience, ie; handling cash loss/large loss and a desire to move into the Reinsurance sector.
- Competent Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
- Willingness to learn and develop knowledge of technical account structure.
- Successful management of workload; with an ability to manage expectations.

- Experience of using London Market systems such as LORS and the IMR (Insurance Market Repository)
- Knowledge of CLASS system is useful for review of London market queries
- Knowledge of Letters Of Credit and the Citibank process
