Are you passionate about making a difference in mental health care? We are looking for caring, motivated individuals to join us as Senior Health Care Support Workers within our Adult Mental Health Acute & Specialist Care Service. As a Senior Health Care Support Worker, you will work under the supervision of registered healthcare professionals to provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients across our Airedale and Bradford units.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an in-person assessment centre on 26 September 2025 at New Mill, Saltaire. This is the only interview date available. Virtual interviews will not be offered. Please ensure you are available on this date before applying.

Responsibilities

  • Overview: Play a vital role in supporting the delivery of safe, compassionate, and effective care for service users, under the supervision of registered healthcare professionals.
  • Supporting care delivery: Assist in the assessment, implementation, and evaluation of person-centred care for individuals experiencing mental illness, including those presenting with challenging behaviours.
  • Clinical support: Provide direct clinical care as delegated by registered staff, ensuring best practices are followed and care is delivered safely.
  • Patient safety and experience: Promote a safe, respectful, and dignified environment for all patients, families, and staff, in line with the Trust\’s values: We Care, We Listen, We Deliver.
  • Ward resources: Help maintain appropriate stock levels of clinical and non-clinical supplies on the ward.
  • Recovery-focused care: Support patients on their journey to recovery by encouraging independence, engagement, and empowerment.
  • Team support and development: Act as a positive role model for junior staff, providing guidance and supporting their development within the ward environment.

This position is not eligible for sponsorship set by the Home Office and the skilled worker visa occupation list. If you are currently a visa holder and your visa status expires, we may be required to terminate your employment in compliance with immigration regulations.
