Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic individual for a housekeeping position within our Estates & Facilities team in the NHS. The role involves maintaining cleanliness standards across two BDCFT hospitals, working within a specified rota pattern.

- Week 2: Monday – Working, Tuesday – Working, Wednesday – Off, Thursday – Off, Friday – Off, Saturday – Working, Sunday – Working
Main Duties
- To provide an effective and efficient food and beverage service in line with Food Safety and Hygiene legislation and Improving the Patient Experience (ItPE) protocols.
- To provide an effective and efficient cleaning service in line with NHS National Standards Cleanliness 2021.
- To meet the requirements of patients, service users, staff, and visitors to maintain and provide a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
- To work between two BDCFT Hospitals (Lynfield Mount & Airedale Centre for Mental Health).
Person Specification
Essential Knowledge
- Awareness of cleanliness standards within a healthcare environment
- Understanding of COSHH
Desirable Knowledge
- Awareness of food service environment standards
- Basic knowledge of IT systems (e.g., Word, Outlook)
Essential Qualifications
- Level 2 Certificate in Food Safety (or willing to work towards during a 6‑month probationary period)
- Allergen Level 2 Certification (or willing to work towards during a 6‑month probationary period)
Desirable Qualifications
- NVQ Level 1 in Cleaning and Support Services or equivalent experience
- NVQ Level 2 in Cleaning and Support Services or equivalent experience
Essential Experience
- Experience of either food service or cleaning within a healthcare environment
- Understanding the importance of health & safety
Desirable Experience
- Experience of working in a food service environment
- Experience of working in a customer service environment
- Experience of using industrial cleaning equipment
