We are seeking a qualified and experienced cook/chef to join our Facilities Team. The successful applicant will primarily work at Lynfield Mount Hospital and Airedale Centre for Mental Health, providing freshly prepared hot and cold food to service users, visitors and staff across the Bradford District Care Trust. The Trust has achieved and retained ISO 9001 Quality Assurance and holds a Bradford Environmental Health rating of 5. We are recognised as one of the best in‑house NHS catering providers in England and continually improve our service year on year.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of vegetables, sauces and other meal accompaniments.
  • Preparation of main meals for both cook/serve and cook/chill units.
  • Preparation of salads, sandwiches and other cold dishes.
  • Preparation of breakfasts for patients and staff.
  • Adherence to recipes, methods and health & safety regulations.
  • Correct and economical use of equipment and materials.
  • Regeneration of cook/chill dishes.
  • Receipt of deliveries, checking quality & quantity and ensuring correct storage.
  • Service of meals and beverages to patients, staff and visitors and the washing of crockery, dishes & utensils.
  • Cleaning of equipment and work areas to meet cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Observing and enforcing all food hygiene policies, procedures & documentation.
  • Delivery of meals/hospitality to Service Users/Staff/Visitors using Trust vehicles.
  • Commitment to the Green Plan and consideration of sustainability in all service activities.

Work schedule: 37.5 hours per week on a 5‑day rota that includes weekends, operating year‑round in a six‑week rolling pattern across both sites.
