Due to continued growth, we are seeking an ambitious and motivated Trainee Buyer to join our Commercial Team. Based at our Gusto Group Head Office in Collingham, Newark, this role presents an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in procurement and commercial management within a forward-thinking residential construction business. The successful candidate will become part of our Commercial Team, working alongside an experienced Buyer and supporting the Quantity Surveying and Commercial functions.

The role will involve:

  • Obtaining quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
  • Raising purchase orders and tracking deliveries
  • Maintaining procurement records and supplier databases
  • Assisting with supplier negotiations and cost-saving initiatives
  • Supporting the QS and Commercial teams with administrative tasks and reporting
  • Maintaining accurate records of orders, invoices and supplier information
  • Liaising with suppliers, site teams and internal departments
  • Assisting with procurement schedules and project requirements
  • Attending site visits and supplier meetings where required

What We Are Looking For:

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Basic commercial knowledge would be advantageous
  • Construction industry experience or knowledge would be advantageous
  • Full UK driving licence preferred

Salary will be depending on experience, ranging between £28,000 - £30,000 per annum, paid monthly on the last working day of each month. You will be contracted to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. 25 days annual leave per year plus bank holidays, increasing by 1 day after 2 full years completed service, then another day after 4 years and another day after 6 years service up to a maximum of 28 days plus bank holidays. Days are deducted annually from leave for a full business closure at Christmas. Pension contribution is 4% employee and 3% employer. Death in Service benefit.
