As a Scaffolding Design Engineer or Senior Design Engineer, you’ll generate concept ideas, design calculations, CAD drawings, risk assessments, site visits, training, and mentoring. Multi-tasking and thriving under pressure are essential, as is quickly adapting to client needs. Your strong communication skills will help you confidently share ideas with the team and clients, representing both with professionalism.
To qualify:
- You should be a Scaffolding Design Engineer / Senior Scaffolding Design Engineer / Scaffold Construction Engineer / Scaffold Designer / Scaffold Engineer / Scaffolding Engineer / Scaffolding Design Specialist / Scaffold Design Coordinator / Scaffold Design Consultant / Scaffold Design Manager or similar with a CV that demonstrates:
- You are proficient in tube and fittings, system scaffolds, and fundamental engineering principles (steel and timber design beneficial).
- You are skilled in designing intricate and complex structures (e.g., truss-out scaffold, mono-pitched roofs, duo-pitched roofs, temporary buildings).
- Experience in value engineering and understanding the economic impacts on client costs.
- You are confident and professional in sharing ideas with team and clients.
- The ability to develop and mentor graduate engineers.
In addition, the Senior Scaffolding Design Engineer will demonstrate:
- Experience reviewing designs, preparing quotes, managing deadlines, and writing design briefs.
- The ability to develop the London office client base.
- You are skilled in setting goals, overseeing staff performance, and planning project feasibility based on market demand.
- Familiarity with frame analysis and/or modelling software packages would be a bonus.
