This vacancy seeks a highly diligent, hardworking, dedicated and disciplined Amritdhari applicant, who is able to perform all Religious Duties according to the high standard of the Rehat Maryada and the aims and objectives of the Gurdwara Sahib.

The duties include:

  • Do Parkash and Sukhason of S. Guru Granth Sahib and daily Nitnem Path.
  • Prepare and serve Parshad to sangat daily.
  • Support with Langar distribution to sangat and do Ardas.
  • Support Head Granthi with Sukhmani Sahib Path, Sehaj Path, S. Akhand Path, and daily Hokamnama.
  • Take part in kirtan and play the TABLA professionally.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Essential and must have previous experience of working in a Gurdwara Sahib, performing religious duties.
  • Must be fluent in reading, speaking and writing Gurmukhi.
  • Must be a professionally qualified TABLA player and be able to play the harmonium.
  • Some reading and writing of English is desirable.
  • Vast knowledge of S. Guru Granth Sahib and Sikh History is necessary.
  • Knowledge/understanding and practising of the Rehat Maryada required.
  • Must be able to provide references of previous experience and work flexible hours as and when necessary.

Duration/accommodation/wage: Temporary Contract for up to 2 years and work 30 hours weekly. Employment is subject to visa clearance and regular 6 monthly reviews by Gurdwara Management Committee. National minimum wage paid and must reside within the Gurdwara accommodation.
