ABOUT THE JOB
Gunzilla Games seeks a Senior Technical Animator to collaborate with our Animation and Tech Art teams on Character Locomotion for our game OTG (Off The Grid), a AAA Extraction Battle Royale currently in Early Access on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with Animators to establish best practices and workflows
- Develop pipelines for characters, weapons, and vehicles
- Create or design tools to enhance pipelines
- Understand, set up, and extend locomotion systems
- Improve workflow efficiency through proactive solutions
- Research and prototype character pipelines and support team ideas
- Collaborate with Engineering and Technical Art teams
- Mentor and train junior technical animators
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience
- Proficiency in Maya or MotionBuilder and Python API
- Expertise in animation and locomotion systems
- Knowledge of tech animation topics like state machines, blend trees
- Ability to collaborate across teams to realize features
- Ownership of quality, memory-efficient, performant systems
- Problem-solving skills and innovative thinking
- Self-direction and autonomy
PLUSES
- Experience with Unreal Engine's Animation Blueprints
