ABOUT THE JOB
Gunzilla seeks a Lead AI Designer for our game OTG (Off The Grid), a AAA Extraction Battle Royale available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a multidisciplinary team to develop core AI systems for NPCs
- Design and implement AI systems, controls, and interfaces
- Maintain documentation using Confluence, JIRA, and MS Office
- Collaborate from conception to release with the development team
- Mentor junior AI designers
- Hands-on experience with Unreal Editor for gameplay systems
- Manage AI animations and behaviors using state machines and behavior trees
- Work with directors to align with the game design vision
- Design and implement AI systems supporting creative and game directions
- Adapt designs to technical and production constraints
- Ensure consistency across disciplines
- Develop expandable systems for post-launch
- Stay updated on industry best practices
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years as an AI Designer, with at least 1 in a lead role
- Shipped at least one AAA title as a Senior or Lead AI Designer, preferably FPS or Multiplayer
- Experience with AI visual scripting and Behavior Trees
- Knowledge of Unreal Engine 4 or 5
- Ability to analyze mechanics for game design
- Leadership and mentoring experience
- Understanding of production pipeline collaboration
- Strong communication skills and documentation experience
