Scope of the role:
Reporting to the Global IT Project Manager, the BI Data Analyst is responsible for designing, delivering, and supporting enterpriseâgrade business intelligence and analytics solutions using Microsoft Power BI and the Power Platform. The role acts as a subjectâmatter expert (SME) for Power BI, enabling dataâdriven decisionâmaking through highâquality dashboards, governed datasets, automation, and strong stakeholder engagement.
Main Responsibilities:
- Strategic Collaboration & Business Alignment: Partner with business users, senior management, and IT stakeholders to understand analytical needs and translate them into actionable BI solutions. Gather, document, and validate business requirements; recommend analytical approaches aligned with business objectives. Translate complex business problems into technical designs that deliver clear insights and measurable business value. Proactively identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting effectiveness, and decisionâmaking processes.
- Innovation & Product Development: Design, develop, and maintain Power BI datasets, reports, and dashboards to meet evolving business requirements. Design and deliver endâtoâend analytical and digital solutions using Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and AI Builder. Build solution prototypes where needed to validate concepts and accelerate delivery. Work closely with the data architect and data engineering team to design and deliver analyticsâready datasets through data ingestion, cleansing, and transformation. Document analytical logic, data models, and datasets to support advanced analytics and future enhancements.
- BI Adoption & Enablement: Act as the goâto expert for Power BI and data analyticsârelated user queries. Conduct Power BI endâuser training sessions and provide ongoing guidance and bestâpractice support. Promote effective BI usage patterns and selfâservice analytics across the organization.
- Operational Excellence: Enforce BI governance standards and best practices to maintain data quality, consistency, and auditability. Monitor and optimize report performance and dataset refreshes to ensure stability and scalability. Maintain clear technical documentation, release artifacts, and operational procedures to support sustainable BI operations.
Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Microsoft certifications in Power BI / Power Platform / Fabric are highly preferred.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Power Platform, with Power BI as a core specialization (SME level).
- Excellent SQL skills and solid understanding of data modelling concepts.
- Good understanding of commodity trading knowledge is a bonus.
- Strong analytical and problemâsolving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong stakeholder management skills; capable of exceeding stakeholder expectations.
- Selfâmotivated, proactive, and wellâorganized, with strong timeâmanagement skills.
- Comfortable working under pressure in a fastâpaced environment.
- Team player with a collaborative mindset.
- English: Fluent (spoken and written). Any other language an asset.
