gunnercooke LLP is a Top 75 law firm with recognition across 28 disciplines and over 50 individually ranked lawyers. Having launched in 2010, the firm has grown to over 450 solicitors, including 360+ Partners. With a national and international presence, the firm has offices throughout the UK, Scotland, Germany, and the US. Our purpose is simple; to deliver a positive impact for our clients, provide a better life for our people and to leave a better world than we found.

The firm’s innovative ‘revenue share’ model has helped to reshape the way that the law is practiced in the UK. Each Partner runs his or her own practice within the firm. This quasi-autonomous structure provides Partners with the freedom to work only with the clients they truly want to work with, charging fees that are commercially viable for both the Partner and the client.

Due to continued success, our Real Estate and Real Estate Finance Partner is seeking the addition of a 5+ year PQE Solicitor to join their high calibre, growing team in London.

We are looking for a Real Estate Senior Associate 5+ years PQE to join our Partner’s fast-growing team. While our partner is headquartered in London, the role offers remote working flexibility, with occasional in-person attendance for meetings, collaboration, and networking opportunities.

This established and expanding Real Estate/Real Estate Finance Team has extensive expertise in the specialist secured lending industry and general real estate matters. Their primary clients are specialist property finance lenders (bridging and development), whom they support with unregulated loan originations; developers, whom they advise on throughout the life cycle of the development from acquisition, financing and eventual sale and investor.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Real Estate and a desire to expand their skills within Real Estate Finance.

Essential Experience
  • You will be a qualified solicitor 5 years PQE.
  • You will have experience in residential and commercial real estate matters.
  • You will have experience in acting for commercial clients on the purchase of residential properties being purchased with bridging finance, where the lender is separately represented.
  • You will have experience in acting for clients on the purchase of ground up development sites where they are purchasing with bridging and/or development finance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for client interaction.
  • The ability to meet the challenges posed by demanding clients and tight deadlines without compromising work quality or service.
  • Willingness to collaborate closely with team members.
  • A strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a varied caseload of real estate where clients have purchased with bridging finance or development finance, including property acquisition, disposal, investment, and development finance.
  • Ensure proactive and efficient management of each case from start to finish.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, enhancing the market reputation of the business.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills, proactivity, and creative thinking.

This opportunity would suit a commercially minded Solicitor looking to take the next step in their career within a progressive, entrepreneurial environment that offers genuine flexibility and collaboration.
