We are looking for an experienced Private Client Solicitor who is looking to springboard their career and join a reputable Private Client Partner in Alderley Edge. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Private Client Solicitor to join a growing team, supporting a highly regarded Private Client Partner within a thriving legal practice. You will work closely with Philippa, a Private Client Partner with over 17 years’ experience advising on all aspects of private client work. Dual qualified as both a Solicitor and Chartered Tax Adviser, and a full member of STEP, she brings significant technical expertise and Big Four experience to the team.

You will step into a dynamic and varied role, working closely alongside a high-performing Partner, gaining exposure to high-quality work and complex matters, while contributing to the continued growth of the practice. This role offers the opportunity to work with a broad spectrum of clients, including UHNW and HNW individuals, handling a diverse and high-quality caseload.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a varied caseload of private client matters, including; wills and estate planning, lasting powers of attorney, probate and estate administration, trust creation and administration, deeds of variation, court of protection applications
  • Advising clients on inheritance tax and personal tax planning matters, with supervision and input from the Partner where required
  • Conducting client meetings (in person and remotely), taking instructions and providing clear, practical advice
  • Drafting Wills, LPAs, trust documentation and estate administration papers to a high standard
  • Assisting on more complex, high-value and cross-border matters alongside the Partner
  • Preparing estate accounts and liaising with executors, beneficiaries and third parties
  • Liaising with accountants, financial advisers and other professional contacts
  • Supporting the Partner with the ongoing development and growth of the private client practice
  • Maintaining strong client relationships and delivering an empathetic, high-quality service
  • Contributing to business development initiatives, networking events and cross-referrals within the firm
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and risk management requirements

What we’re looking for

  • A Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales
  • Previous experience as a Private Client Solicitor
  • 2+ years of PQE
  • STEP qualification preferable or desire to obtain qualification
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to build strong rapport and relationships
  • Strong IT skills (specifically Microsoft Excel/Word and Data Rooms)
  • Excellent client service
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
