Our purpose is simple; to deliver a positive impact for our clients, provide a better life for our people and to leave a better world than we found. The firm’s innovative ‘revenue share’ model has helped to reshape the way that the law is practiced in the UK.

We are looking for a Non-contentious Construction Solicitor 6+ years PQE to join our reputable Construction Team. You will be joining a team of five solicitors, covering both contentious and non-contentious work, and will be working as a Non-Contentious Construction Senior Associate or Legal Counsel in a rapidly growing team for a Construction Partner based in London, servicing clients across England and Wales. The ideal candidate will be analytical, focused and conscientious, with strong expertise in construction law and a small, portable book of business. This role can be based in any of our SRA-registered offices or undertaken remotely, with very occasional office attendance for networking and business development purposes (c. once per month).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Advising clients on a wide range of non-contentious matters, primarily within real estate and banking-related work
  • Acting for developers, investors, landlords, lenders, and corporate occupiers
  • Managing transactions from instruction through to completion, ensuring matters are delivered efficiently and commercially
  • Providing strategic, commercially focused advice tailored to clients’ business objectives
  • Building and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships
  • Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers where appropriate
  • Contributing to business development and cross-referrals within the firm

This is suitable for individuals who want to step away from a traditional model and springboard their career in a top 75 Law Firm.

Personal Specification

To be successful in the role, you will be 6+ years of PQE, with previous experience at Top 100 firm. You will have experience managing a varied non-contentious construction caseload, working within a heavy hitting team. You will be pro-active, efficient, organised, keen to take the initiative and to drive transactions forward.

Day-To-Day

  • Assisting our real estate finance team with construction due diligence (borrower and lender)
  • Managing due diligence processes and reporting to clients and lenders
  • Liaising with clients, agents, lenders, and other professional advisers
  • Supporting real estate, banking and corporate teams on construction elements of wider transactions
  • Handling matters with minimal supervision and prioritising workload effectively
  • Identifying legal risks and providing pragmatic solutions
  • Keeping up to date with relevant legal and market developments

The ideal candidate will also be able to demonstrate:

  • Commercial awareness and negotiating skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to build strong rapport and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.
  • Strong IT skills (specifically Outlook, Microsoft Excel/Word and Data Rooms).
  • Ability to plan work and prioritise tasks.
