We are looking for an experienced Private Client Solicitor / Legal Executive who is looking to springboard their career and join a reputable Private Client Partner. This role can be based in Manchester or Leeds, or remotely, with occasional office attendance for networking and business development (c. once per month). You will join a dynamic and varied role, working closely with a high-performing Partner. This will provide exposure to high-quality, complex matters, alongside the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of the practice. You will work with a broad range of clients, managing a varied and high-quality caseload. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset, be open to consultancy arrangements, and bring a small portable book of business, or have contacts with regular referrers. You will be a strong networker, with the ability to build relationships with mortgage brokers, IFAs, financial planners, accountants, and other professional contacts.
Responsibilities
- Managing a varied caseload of private client matters, including; wills and estate planning, lasting powers of attorney, probate and estate administration, trust creation and administration, deeds of variation, court of protection applications
- Advising clients on inheritance tax and personal tax planning matters, with supervision and input from the Partner where required
- Conducting client meetings (in person and remotely), taking instructions and providing clear, practical advice
- Drafting Wills, LPAs and trust documentation to a high standard
- Assisting on more complex, high-value matters alongside the Partner
- Liaising with accountants, financial advisers and other professional contacts
- Supporting the Partner with the ongoing development and growth of the private client practice
- Maintaining strong client relationships and delivering an empathetic, high-quality service
- Contributing to business development initiatives, networking events and cross-referrals within the firm
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and risk management requirements
What we’re looking for
- A Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales, or Legal Executive
- Previous experience handling Private Client matters
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Ability to build strong rapport and relationships
- Strong IT skills (specifically Microsoft Excel/Word)
- Excellent client service
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
