Business Analyst

Most technology roles ask you to join something already built and keep it running. This one is different. We're building a platform that will power the next chapter of our growth - we call it OneGC. You'll be embedded inside the delivery team, working directly with the Product Delivery Manager, Senior Developer, and Testing Analyst. Your job is to make sure the right things get built by understanding the business deeply, asking sharp questions, and translating what you find into requirements the team can actually work from.

You'll work across gunnercooke - with lawyers, Finance, Operations - and you need to be someone people trust to represent their needs accurately and challenge them constructively when needed.

We’re looking for someone who asks the question behind the question. Who spots the gap between what people say they want and what they actually need. Who isn't afraid to push back, and does it in a way that builds trust rather than friction.

Responsibilities

• Engage with business stakeholders across gunnercooke to understand needs, workflows, pain points, and opportunities
• Distinguish between stated requirements and underlying needs, challenging assumptions constructively where necessary
• Analyse existing processes, data flows, and system interactions to identify gaps and improvement opportunities
• Translate business needs into clear, unambiguous requirements in formats appropriate to the delivery approach
• Produce process maps, data flow diagrams, and system interaction documentation as required
• Validate that delivered features meet original requirements before release to users
• Support user acceptance testing by preparing test scenarios and facilitating sessions with business stakeholders
• Build and maintain trusted working relationships with stakeholders across the firm
• Define measurable acceptance criteria for all requirements in collaboration with the Testing Analyst

The Person

Experience

• Solid BA experience in a technology delivery environment
• Experience working in an Agile delivery environment, ideally within a hybrid team blending in-house and supplier resources
• Strong facilitation skills - workshops, interviews, working sessions
• Experience writing user stories, use cases, or functional specifications
• Comfortable defining and validating acceptance criteria
• Analytical - comfortable with data, MI, and reporting requirements
• Active use of AI tools to accelerate analysis and documentation
• Legal or professional services experience is a genuine advantage (not essential).
