We’re delighted to be supporting one of our clients with the appointment of an experienced Head of Finance. This newly created post will play a key role in achieving the firm’s strategy by leading on finance system, process and reporting transformation. The role will also be key in shaping commercial decision‑making, improving financial performance, and strengthening the firm’s operational resilience, at what is an exciting time for the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the COO with delivery of the firm’s financial strategy aligned to long‑term business objectives and long-term planning processes
- Lead on automation, AI adoption and digital transformation within the Finance function
- Drive a culture of commercial awareness across the business
- Maintain strong financial controls, policies, and risk management frameworks
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and professional obligations
- Responsible for implementation of key finance and cashroom workflows
- Lead continuous improvement of practice management system, finance processes, and reporting tools
- Work closely with the COO to develop improved MI packs and improve data integrity
- Continue to build a high‑performing, service‑oriented Finance function
- Ensure development and progression of all Finance team members
Reporting Lines
- Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
- Direct reports: Financial Controller, Finance Business Partners, Head Cashier and Credit Controller
The ideal candidate for the post will meet the following criteria:
Essential
- Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Significant senior finance leadership experience within a similar environment
- Proven track record of implementing finance systems, workflows and new processes
- Significant experience of developing detailed and high-level financial reports and analysis
- Proven track record of improving financial performance and operational efficiency
- Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting, controls, and compliance
- Experience leading and developing multi‑disciplinary Finance teams
Desirable
- Understanding of LLP structures and Partner tax arrangements
