Description of role: The Shop Manager will oversee daily store operations, ensuring efficient management, high customer service standards, and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing store operations and ensuring smooth day-to-day running
- Leading and motivating a sales team to maximize productivity and sales
- Providing excellent customer service and assisting customers with purchasing decisions
- Managing inventory, ordering stock, and liaising with suppliers
- Handling regulatory paperwork and ensuring compliance with firearm sales laws
- Maintaining up-to-date price lists and coordinating with the marketing team on promotions
- Managing store layout and displays to enhance the shopping experience
- Hiring, training, and supervising store employees
- Handling customer inquiries, complaints, and returns professionally
- Processing sales transactions and managing cash flow

Required qualifications:
- Minimum of four years’ experience leading a team in a fast-paced retail environment
- Strong time-management, delegation, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and a clear telephone manner
- Ability to motivate and drive a team effectively
- Competency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Strong attention to detail for documentation and regulatory compliance
- Knowledge or an interest in the sporting firearms industry is advantageous
- Successful applicants must complete a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check
Salary: £29,000 – £32,500 per year
