A fantastic part-time opportunity for an energetic Weekend SEN Nanny/Manny to support a sunny 7.5-year-old autistic boy.
Salary/Wage: £22.00–£24.00 gross per hour.
Driving Requirements: Use of an automatic family car while on duty.
Essential: Professional experience supporting autistic children, non-smoker/vaper, physically fit and active, confident swimmer and driver with a clean UK licence. Female applicants only.
Start Date: ASAP.
Schedule: 3 consecutive weekends on duty, followed by 1 weekend off. Saturday & Sunday: 9.00 am–7.00 pm. No duties are required overnight (7.00 pm–9.00 am).
Accommodation Provided: Country weekends include a private bedroom and bathroom on a separate floor. When in Kent, accommodation is provided; the home is close to the station, with parking available.
Location: London (Chelsea SW3) and Canterbury CT4.
Pets in Home: Yes, small dog.
About the Child: Lucas, 7.5, is an affectionate, energetic boy living with his parents and older sister. He is physically strong and enjoys trampolining, swimming, parks, coffee shops, books, characters, audio stories, and TV. Lucas is autistic and non-verbal with developmental delay. He attends a specialist SEN school with 1:1 support and receives Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) and Occupational Therapy (OT). He communicates using an AAC device (Proloquo) on his iPad and needs help modelling communication, feeding, and bathroom routines. Lucas was recently diagnosed with epilepsy and takes medication twice daily.
Responsibilities:
- Support Lucas during weekend activities including swimming, trampoline parks, and playground visits.
- Drive him to activities and supervise closely, sometimes with sole authority, other times alongside the family.
- Assist with feeding and bathroom routines.
- Model communication using his AAC device.
- Manage Lucas’s medication schedule.
- Ensure a safe and engaging environment.
Qualifications:
- Professional experience supporting autistic children.
- Non-smoker/vaper.
- Physically fit; able to keep up with an active child.
- Confident swimmer.
- Valid UK driving licence and use of an automatic family car.
