KinRoute — Driving Assistant Needed, South West London - Urgent, Sept Start.
KinRoute is recruiting for a regular school-run role in Battersea starting September.
The role:
- Drive and escort a child to and from school, door-to-door, Monday–Friday
- Morning:and afternoon
- Own car required (ULEZ-compliant)
- Same child, same escort, every day
This role suits someone with flexible daytime availability — ideal alongside other part-time work, freelance commitments, or your own school-hours routine.
This is a childcare role, not a chauffeur or private driver position.
Alongside driving, you'll be responsible for:
- Checking in on the child's wellbeing and mood, and responding calmly if something seems off
- Keeping them safe, comfortable and engaged throughout the journey
- Managing bags, school kit, and any specific needs shared by the parent
- Ensuring safe handover at both ends — into school, and back to a parent/guardian
- Sending a brief update to the parent at collection and drop-off
- Using good judgement and safeguarding awareness at all times
Pay: From £40/day.
Who we're looking for:
- Calm, discreet, and professional — comfortable working closely with high‑profile families and respecting their privacy at all times
- Reliable and punctual, with excellent local knowledge of SW London
- Genuine enjoyment of working with children, with a warm but measured manner.
What you'll need:
- Full clean UK driving licence (2–3+ years held)
- Own vehicle, MOT and tax current, ULEZ‑compliant
- Business‑use car insurance covering childcare/passenger transport (or willingness to arrange)
- Enhanced DBS, ideally on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one — KinRoute can support with this)
- Paediatric first aid certificate (or willingness to complete — course cost may be supported)
- References from previous childcare or family‑facing roles
- Right to work in the UK
