General Operative – Timber Production
Location: Long Crendon, just outside Thame
Pay: £13.30 per hour
Hours: Monday–Thursday 6:00am–4:00pm, Friday 6:00am–1:00pm
Contract: Temp-to-Perm following a successful 12-week trial period
Interaction Recruitment are currently recruiting for General Operatives to join a busy and well-established manufacturing environment in Long Crendon, just outside Thame. This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates looking for a long-term position within a hands-on production environment, with the potential to become permanent following a successful 12-week temporary period.
The Role
- Working as part of a busy timber production team
- Measuring, cutting and preparing timber to required specifications
- Operating production machinery and equipment safely
- Assembling timber components and products
- Using hand tools and basic power tools
- Reading basic measurements, plans and production instructions
- Feeding timber and materials through production processes
- Carrying out quality checks to ensure products meet required standards
- Moving, stacking and organising timber and finished products
- Loading and unloading materials where required
- Ensuring timber products are prepared accurately and efficiently
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised production area
- Following all company Health & Safety procedures
- Reporting any damaged materials, machinery issues or quality concerns
- Working towards daily production targets and deadlines
- Supporting colleagues across the production area when required
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, warehouse or construction environment is desirable
- Comfortable working with timber and materials
- Good attention to detail
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
- Able to work as part of a team
- Reliable and punctual
- Good attitude towards work
- Willingness to learn new skills and production processes
- Strong commitment to Health & Safety
- Previous experience using hand/power tools would be advantageous
Temp-to-Perm Opportunity
This position is offered on a temp-to-perm basis, with the opportunity to become a permanent member of the team following a successful 12-week trial period. Once permanent and following completion of the probationary period, employees will also have the opportunity to qualify for performance and attendance-related bonuses.
