A welcoming family in Hackney are looking for an experienced part time nanny housekeeper to care for their two children, aged 11 months and 5 years old, while helping with the day-to-day organisation of their home. This is a varied role that would suit a caring, energetic and well-organised candidate who enjoys working with young children and takes pride in maintaining a tidy and well-run household. The successful candidate will be confident caring for both a baby and a school-aged child, able to work independently and happy to assist with household duties during quieter periods. Applicants should also be pet friendly and comfortable working in a home with pets. Previous experience in a similar private household role and excellent references are essential.

Duties include:

  • caring for the children's daily needs in a warm and nurturing manner
  • supporting the baby's feeding, naps and developmental milestones
  • preparing bottles, meals and snacks for the children
  • taking the children to local activities and outings when appropriate
  • supporting school routines for the older child
  • planning stimulating indoor and outdoor activities
  • encouraging learning through creative play
  • keeping children's toys, bedrooms and nursery organised
  • washing and ironing the children's clothing
  • undertaking general housekeeping duties throughout the home
  • cleaning and tidying the kitchen, bathrooms and living areas
  • changing bed linen and managing family laundry
  • helping with grocery shopping and household errands when required
  • assisting with pet-related tasks as needed
  • maintaining a clean, organised and welcoming home environment
