Location and Pay

  • Location: Village in South Oxfordshire, OX44
  • Pay: £22.00 weekdays | £24.00 weekends | £25,200 gross per annum

Driver Requirement

  • Driver: Essential - own car required due to rural location (family EV sometimes available, mileage reimbursed).

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting non-verbal autistic children with learning disabilities.
  • Confident with de-escalation, toileting, washing.
  • Energetic and safety-conscious.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Autism/Safeguarding training.
  • Swimming support experience.

Start Date & Hours

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Hours: 18 hours per week (Mon/Wed/Thurs 2:45pm-7:45pm, Fri 2:45pm-5:45pm) plus minimum 16 weekend hours per month and occasional overnight stays.

Accommodation

  • Own bedroom & bathroom for overnight stays.

About Theo

Theo is a fun, active 9-year-old who enjoys water play, trampolining, music, messy play and being outdoors. He is autistic, non-verbal, and has ADHD and sensory processing difficulties, responding best to calm, simple routines and patient support.

Responsibilities

Support Theo after school and weekends, helping with daily routines, meals, personal care, emotional regulation, and fun activities while keeping him safe and engaged. The role includes active play, close supervision, and occasional overnight support.

Ideal Candidate

An experienced SEN professional who is calm, energetic, patient, and confident supporting autistic children, with strong de-escalation skills and enthusiasm for sensory and outdoor activities.
