A well-established accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Interim Auditor to support a busy audit team during a period of sustained growth. The successful candidate will work primarily with a portfolio of property and construction clients, delivering high-quality audit assignments and providing technically robust audit support across a range of engagements.
This is an excellent opportunity for an auditor who can quickly integrate into an established team, take ownership of assignments, and work with minimal supervision.
Your new role:
- Lead and deliver audit assignments from planning through to completion.
- Manage audits for a diverse portfolio of property and construction sector clients.
- Review and assess financial statements prepared under UK GAAP and FRS 102.
- Evaluate revenue recognition, WIP, contract accounting, and project-related financial controls.
- Review fixed asset registers, development property valuations, investment property portfolios, and construction contracts.
- Liaise directly with clients, providing clear communication and resolving audit queries efficiently.
- Identify audit risks and ensure compliance with audit and accounting standards.
- Support managers and partners with technical matters and engagement delivery.
- Prepare and review audit documentation to a high professional standard.
What you'll need to succeed:
- ACA or ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience with substantial audit exposure).
- Strong external audit background gained within an accountancy practice environment.
- Demonstrable experience auditing property developers, construction companies, contractors, housing associations, or real estate businesses.
