Nanny & Governess is seeking an experienced, native French-speaking Rota Nanny for a Russian family based in Chelsea, London. The family has eight children; however, the successful candidate will be responsible for the care and development of two boys aged 7 and 5 years old. This is a live-in rota position working alongside a fully staffed household.

Location: Chelsea, London

Children: Two boys, aged 7 and 5

Schedule: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off

Accommodation: Live-in during working rota (shared bedroom with the 5-year-old child)

Start Date: July 2026

Travel: Extensive travel during school holidays and summer periods

Salary: Up to €400 gross per 24-hour working day

Employment Basis: Self-employed

About the Role

The ideal candidate will provide outstanding childcare while creating a positive French-speaking environment that supports language development and academic progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the children's safety, wellbeing, and daily care
  • Supporting and supervising schoolwork and English homework
  • Providing French language immersion throughout the day
  • Developing the 5-year-old's French language skills from beginner level
  • Maintaining and improving the 7-year-old's existing French language abilities
  • Organising engaging educational and recreational activities
  • Managing children's belongings and maintaining tidy play and bedroom areas
  • Purchasing children's essentials as requested by the mother, including books, gifts, cards, vitamins, and personal items
  • Supporting routines, independence, and positive behaviour

Note: Cooking, laundry, and ironing are not required.

Daily Routine

During term time, the boys leave for school at approximately 7:45am and return between 3:00pm and 3:30pm. Afternoons typically include:

  • Extracurricular activities
  • Outdoor play and walks
  • Homework supervision
  • Dinner and evening routine
  • Bath and bedtime preparation

Candidate Requirements

  • Native French speaker
  • Fluent English
  • Previous experience working with Russian-speaking families highly desirable
  • Previous live-in nanny experience preferred
  • Proven longevity in previous positions, ideally remaining with families for 2–3 years or longer
  • Warm, calm, positive, and approachable personality
  • Strong team player able to work alongside housekeepers and drivers
  • Organised, reliable, and proactive
  • Driving licence not required
