Acorn by Synergie is recruiting Skilled Counterbalance FLT Drivers on behalf of Stellantis Vauxhall, a leading automotive manufacturer based in Ellesmere Port. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Counterbalance FLT Drivers, Forklift Truck Drivers, Warehouse Operatives, Production Operatives, Manufacturing Operatives, Automotive Operatives, and Assembly Operatives looking to join one of the UK's leading automotive manufacturing facilities.

Working within a fast-paced automotive production environment, you'll spend the majority of your time operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck, while also supporting production activities when required. Successful candidates will start in September 2026 and must be fully flexible to work rotating shifts, including days, afternoons, and nights, depending on business requirements.

Key Duties

  • Operate a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently.
  • Load and unload pallets and production materials.
  • Support production duties when required, including working away from the FLT.
  • Assemble vehicle components using hand tools and production equipment.
  • Carry out quality checks before products are dispatched.
  • Move pressed panels to production rails.
  • Prepare vehicles prior to paint processes.
  • Work safely within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Carry out manual handling and remain on your feet throughout the shift.

Requirements

  • Valid, in-date Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) Licence (externally accredited – in-house licences are not accepted).
  • Previous experience as a Counterbalance FLT Driver, Forklift Truck Driver, Warehouse Operative, Production Operative, Manufacturing Operative, or within an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience is desirable.
  • Ability to work flexibly across rotating days, afternoons, and night shifts, with departments and shifts changing to meet business needs.
  • Own transport is essential due to shift patterns and limited public transport.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Proven reliability and commitment in previous employment.

Shift Patterns

  • Days: 7am–3pm.
  • Afternoons: 3pm–11:15pm.
  • Nights: 10:50pm–7am.
  • Monday to Friday rotating shifts, or Sunday to Thursday for permanent night shifts.
