About the job:
Cover supervisors are essential unqualified cover teachers who are able to take the responsibility of the full-time class teacher if the full-time class teacher is absent. Academics is working with fantastic secondary schools in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.
The Cover Supervisor / Cover teacher role:
- Expected to oversee pre-set lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher (no planning, marking).
- Need to be able to quickly build rapport with students, have good behaviour management skills, and be willing to cover a range of subjects if necessary.
- Not be required to deliver the lesson itself but you must ensure the pupils are on task and complete the work set by the teacher.
- Need to manage behaviour in line with the school policy so you must be confident and have a strong, firm, but fair approach.
