Overview
Fixed term contract opportunity for a Sales Consultant/Account Executive to join our SME sales team. You’ll oversee existing accounts within our Jobs category, upsell and nurture existing and lapsed accounts, promoting Gumtree listings as a cost-effective recruitment solution for SMEs (Care Homes, Coffee Shops, Construction, etc.). You’ll be purely phone based, making a high volume of outbound sales calls to identify opportunities, open doors and bring new clients to the Gumtree platform. Location: London Waterloo, hybrid working with 3 days in the office. 6-month fixed term contract.
Salary: £28-£32k base + monthly commission (OTE ~£6–£7K per annum).
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a warm desk across the Jobs vertical, focusing 70% on account management and 30% on proactive business development for lapsed accounts and inbound queries.
- Conduct high-volume outbound calls to identify opportunities, open doors and convert leads to new clients on the Gumtree platform.
- Maintain accurate records using Salesforce CRM or a similar system and work toward daily call targets, monthly KPIs and revenue targets.
- Provide authentic, high-quality customer service as part of a small, passionate SME sales team focused on growth and customer success.
What we are looking for
- Previous phone-based outbound sales experience (high volume of calls) with a track record of hitting targets.
- Sector-specific background in B2B sales, ideally in recruitment, job boards or similar.
- Strong relationship-building skills and comfort pitching at all levels.
- Self-motivated, resilient and driven to perform.
- Positive, proactive teammate with the ability to contribute to a collaborative culture.
- Willingness to commit to a 6-month fixed-term assignment.
