THE PURPOSE
As a key member of the Operations team, the Event Manager plays a central role in the planning, execution, and delivery of events in both the UK and overseas. The purpose of the role is to ensure the seamless end-to-end management of events, delivering outstanding customer experiences while optimising commercial performance. This includes overseeing all logistical planning, managing on-site delivery, and ensuring programmes are delivered on time and within budget.
The Event Manager acts as the main point of contact for internal teams and external partners, representing the business professionally with suppliers, clients, and stakeholders. The role also includes line management of a small team and leadership of larger on-site delivery teams, serving as the escalation point for customer queries and operational decision-making.
There are multiple Event Managers within the team, each responsible for a portfolio of events and products. While independently managing their own areas, collaboration across the team is essential—sharing resources, expertise, and support to ensure overall operational success.

YOU’LL BE DOING
- Event Planning & Delivery
- Holding overall accountability for the successful delivery of assigned events
- Leading the planning and on-site execution of overseas and UK events, managing both teams and logistics
- Overseeing the creation and accuracy of all event documentation for clients and staff
- Ensuring timely and accurate briefings are conducted for all event staff, often delivering these personally
- Maintaining up-to-date and accurate content on event web pages
- Sourcing, briefing, and managing event representatives as required
- Coordinating timely handover of flight-related information to the in-house flight team
- Ensuring all Health & Safety and Incident Management documentation is completed correctly, and procedures are followed
- Commercial & Financial Management
- Taking full commercial responsibility for maximising event revenue and profit
- Driving event profitability through strong budget management and strategic cost control, including sourcing multiple quotes for all major spend
- Leading post-event debriefs and financial reconciliation processes
- Managing all invoicing, commission tracking, and debtor management
- Responding promptly to the sales team with competitive pricing to support conversions and revenue growth
- Tracking team and supporter stock positions and managing risk effectively
- Team & Stakeholder Management
- Establishing strong working relationships with team accounts, suppliers, and internal colleagues
- Acting as the primary point of escalation for customer service queries and complaints
- Providing day-to-day support and mentoring to junior team members
- Supporting the Operations and Commercial Director and other senior leaders across wider team objectives
- Ensuring correct and efficient use of the reservations system across the team, leading on improvements and best practices
