Education and Experience Requirements:

  • GCSE required.
  • Must possess basic mechanical skills, including the use of hand tools.
  • Experience in one of the following or other related experience: Sheetmetal, hydraulic, Wheel, Brake overhaul.

Position Purpose:

Repair, overhaul and certify aircraft wheel and brake assemblies, subassemblies and components in accordance with Gulfstream Repair Station requirements.

Job Description Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for complying with all corporate or local company procedures.
  • Setting up, operating and cleaning all the necessary wheel & brake bay equipment and tooling.
  • Ensure all work performed is in accordance with approved technical and regulatory data.
  • Maintain and utilise all required paperwork in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Conduct preliminary inspection and functional testing to assess components as required.
  • Disassemble components, remove coatings and clean individual parts in preparation for inspection.
  • Inspect all detail parts using blueprints, component and/or overhaul manuals and other required maintenance data to ensure conformity requirements are met.
  • Order necessary parts and/or components.
  • Perform repairs of aircraft wheel and brake assemblies and subassemblies through removals, repair or replacement of defective parts and/or fabrication of replacement parts, and installations in accordance with blueprints, component maintenance manuals, vendor documents, verbal instructions, engineering dispositions, On The Job Training (OJT), and other authorized maintenance data.
  • All activities to be in accordance with Repair Station requirements ensuring all parts and assemblies meet conformance.
  • Reapply applicable coatings to individual parts and reassemble component(s).
  • Set up and operate necessary test equipment in accordance with required documentation to perform functional and operational tests for return to service.
  • Demonstrate effective repair techniques using acceptable practices including troubleshooting.
  • Issue an authorized release certificate for components worked under the company component capability listing.
  • Must have demonstrated, proven experience to be selected and approved, attend training, pass appropriate exams and through approval by QC department.
  • Maintain and utilize all required paperwork in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area including test equipment and peripherals.
  • Comply with all company and legislative environmental health and safety regulations.

Additional Functions:

  • Utilize training and tools to effectively troubleshoot complex electrical circuits and/or systems during component repair process.
  • Complete training and instructing of Acft Component Repair I Techs, must have attended train the trainer course.
  • Be flexible to changing workloads/priorities based on customer requirements.
  • Maintain an orderly and productive work environment.
  • Assist with routine questions and problems, referring the more complex issues to higher levels.
  • Ability to always act in a safe and professional manner.
  • Ability to function in fast paced environment while maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and data required.
  • Ability to prioritize and to work without close supervision.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors and co-workers regarding status and shift turnover.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
