Position Purpose: The Licensed B1 Mechanical Inspector is responsible for ensuring compliance with maintenance, inspection, and legislative standards as specified by EASA and the Quality and Airworthiness Manager.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Acting as an inspector in support of a specific aircraft, line or base maintenance input in accordance with MOE Part 146, as revised.
- Perform the day-to-day duties and responsibilities of a Licensed Mechanical Senior Inspector, when requested by a Service Team Manager.
- Manage the manpower resources, consisting of licensed mechanical and avionics inspectors and fitters, as assigned to a specific aircraft line or base maintenance input, when requested by a Maintenance Team Leader or Service Team Manager.
- Certify tasks they have been trained on and authorized to perform, including inspecting and certifying, at both Luton main base and other locations worldwide. Carry out any other maintenance tasks requested by the Maintenance Team Leader. For base maintenance, this can include Category ‘C’ Certification for those qualified in accordance with MOE Part 34, as revised.
- Ensure aircraft line or base maintenance commitments are fulfilled within the assigned time scale. Report delays to the Maintenance Team Leader and Service Team Manager as soon as possible.
- Ensure all maintenance documentation relevant to work performed or supervised is completed fully, including all task stage requirements before the end of each shift or reassignment during the same shift.
Additional Functions:
- Understand and share the strategic position of the department in relation to Product Support.
- Advise the STM of any difficulties or shortcomings experienced during departmental duties.
- Be aware of and understand departmental measures for monitoring goals, product delivery, and quality.
- Maintain personal and departmental husbandry to ensure continued success.
- Ensure handovers are carried out as required to ensure workflow.
- Attend Stand-up Board meetings as required to communicate and discuss performance.
- Perform other duties as delegated by the STM or Department Manager.
- Promote and ensure the quality of workmanship meets standards acceptable to EASA and the UK CAA, complying with statutory and company standards for all maintenance and design change work, including cleanliness and tidiness.
Other Requirements:
- Extensive experience in line and base maintenance.
- Evidence of aircraft inspection and certification experience.
- Experience within the corporate industry is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of aviation legislation.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in practical computer skills.
- Flexible working approach.
- Well-organized approach to daily tasks.
