The Licensed Avionics B2 Inspector is responsible for ensuring compliance with maintenance, inspection and legislative standards as specified by UKCAA and the Quality and Airworthiness Manager.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Other Aircraft Maintenance License with relevant aircraft Type Ratings.
  • Certification experience within a part 145 organization.

Essential Functions and Additional Responsibilities:

  • Acting as an inspector in support of a specific aircraft, line or base maintenance input in accordance with MOE Part 145.
  • Perform the day to day duties and responsibilities of a Maintenance Team Leader when requested by a Service Team Manager.
  • Manage manpower resources consisting of licensed mechanical and avionics inspectors and fitters, as assigned to a specific aircraft line or base maintenance input.
  • Certify tasks that the inspector has been trained on and authorised to perform; inspect and certify at both Luton main base and other worldwide locations; carry out any other maintenance tasks requested by the Maintenance Team Leader; for base maintenance, this can include Category “C” Certification for those qualified under MOE Part 34.
  • Promote and ensure that aircraft line or base maintenance commitments are fulfilled within the assigned time scale; inform the Maintenance Team Leader and Service Team Manager promptly if any delays occur.
  • Ensure that all aircraft maintenance documentation relevant to the work performed or supervised is completed fully, including all task stage requirements before the end of each shift or during reassignment.
  • Understand and share the strategic position of the department in relation to Product Support.
  • Advise the STM of any difficulties or shortcomings experienced during departmental duties.
  • Maintain awareness of departmental measures for monitoring goals, product delivery and quality.
  • Maintain personal & departmental husbandry to ensure continued department success.
  • Ensure handovers are carried out as required and work flows are maintained.
  • Attend Stand‑up Board meetings as required to roll out performance communications and discussions.
  • Carry out any other duties delegated by the STM or Department Manager.
  • Promote and ensure that the quality of workmanship meets UKCAA standards by complying with statutory and company standards for all maintenance and design change work, ensuring appropriate cleanliness and tidiness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:

  • Extensive combination of line & base maintenance experience.
  • Evidence of aircraft inspection and certification experience gained during extensive line and base aircraft work.
  • Experience within the corporate industry an advantage.
  • Good working knowledge of Aviation Legislation.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good practical computer user skills.
  • Flexible approach to working patterns.
  • Capable of a well‑organised approach to daily job tasks.
