As the B2B Newsletter Manager (Maternity Cover), you will be responsible for executing a strategic and data-driven approach to newsletter growth, audience engagement, and lead generation across our portfolio of technology brands. Reporting to the Audience Outreach Manager and working as part of the Audience Development department, you will partner closely with editorial, commercial, product, and marketing teams to deliver high-performing newsletters that deepen audience relationships while supporting commercial growth. This role blends strategic planning and direction with hands-on execution and implementation, ensuring that our B2B emails directly contribute to increased subscriber growth, stronger engagement and retention, and improved lead generation outcomes.
You will oversee the day-to-day management of our B2B newsletter portfolio, including promotion, production, testing, segmentation, and performance analysis, while identifying opportunities to improve existing products and launch new newsletters.
Key Responsibilities- Newsletter Strategy: Develop and execute data-informed newsletter strategies to grow subscriber audiences, deepen engagement, and support lead generation across multiple technology brands. Create and implement clear newsletter playbooks covering email promotion, subscriber marketing, audience segmentation and testing that can be applied across the portfolio. Monitor email marketing trends, new technologies, and competitor activity to ensure ongoing innovation and continuous improvement.
- Newsletter Production and Growth: Oversee and manage the day-to-day production and scheduling of newsletters, ensuring timely delivery, editorial accuracy, and consistent brand standards. Develop and implement subscriber initiatives to increase newsletter sign-ups through on-site promotion, partnerships, events, and other audience development channels.
- Analytics & Performance Optimization: Define and track key newsletter performance metrics, providing regular reports and actionable insights to improve engagement and business outcomes. Use email marketing platforms and analytics tools to understand subscriber behaviour, identify trends, and refine content and segmentation strategies. Continuously test and optimise send times, content formats, and audience segments to maximize open rates, click-through rates, and conversions.
- Commercial Support: Collaborate with commercial, events, and marketing teams to integrate our newsletters with revenue initiatives and goals. Develop newsletter campaigns and promotional opportunities that support event registrations and other marketing goals. Track and report on the contribution of newsletter initiatives to lead generation and broader commercial performance.
- Subscriber Experience and List Management: Maintain high standards of list hygiene, data quality, and compliance with relevant email marketing regulations and best practices. Develop and manage audience segmentation strategies to deliver relevant and personalized content experiences. Monitor subscriber feedback and engagement patterns to identify opportunities to improve retention, reduce churn, and strengthen audience loyalty.
- 2+ years of experience in newsletter management, email marketing, audience development, or digital marketing, ideally within B2B media or the technology sector.
- Proven expertise in managing newsletter programmes that drive subscriber growth, engagement, and lead generation.
- Strong understanding of email marketing best practices, including audience segmentation, A/B testing, GDPR compliance guidelines, deliverability, and list hygiene.
- Experience using email service providers and marketing automation platforms, with the ability to build, schedule, and optimize newsletter campaigns.
- Good understanding of lead generation and conversion strategies, including promoting event registrations, webinars, whitepaper downloads, and other marketing initiatives.
