As Procurement Director, you will shape and execute the company’s procurement and supply chain strategy, ensuring it supports the successful delivery of renewable energy projects and long-term business growth. You will provide assurance to the Board that procurement activities are conducted to the highest standards of governance, competitiveness, ethics, and value creation. Working closely with Project Development, Engineering, Construction, Operations, Finance, and Legal teams, you will optimise supplier performance, manage supply chain risk, and deliver sustainable commercial outcomes across the business.
What you’ll be doing:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies that support renewable energy projects, operational objectives, and business growth.
- Identify, evaluate, and select strategic suppliers for major equipment, materials, and construction services, ensuring quality, reliability, and commercial competitiveness.
- Lead negotiations and manage contracts with suppliers, EPC contractors, and service providers to secure favourable commercial terms and maximise value.
- Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships, driving performance through governance, audits, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure the timely procurement of equipment and services to support project delivery, maintaining alignment with project schedules and budgets.
- Monitor market developments, supply chain dynamics, and emerging risks, implementing mitigation strategies to protect project delivery and business performance.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and ESG commitments.
- Provide regular assurance and reporting to the Board and executive leadership team on procurement performance, risk management, governance, and value delivery.
- Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing procurement function, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with Engineering, Construction, Operations, Finance, Legal, and other key stakeholders to support successful project execution and strategic business objectives.
What you’ll bring:
- More than 15 years of progressive procurement experience, including significant exposure to renewable energy, power generation, utilities, infrastructure, or other large-scale capital-intensive industries.
- Proven success in strategic sourcing and category management, including renewable energy equipment such as solar modules, wind turbines, battery energy storage systems (BESS), electrical infrastructure, and EPC services.
- Exceptional commercial acumen and contract negotiation expertise, with a track record of securing complex, high-value agreements and delivering measurable cost savings and business value.
- Extensive experience managing supplier and stakeholder relationships, building strategic partnerships with global suppliers, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
- Deep knowledge of project procurement and supply chain management, including tendering, contract administration, logistics, procurement governance, and risk management within large-scale project environments.
- Strong financial and analytical capabilities, including budget management, forecasting, total cost of ownership analysis, and supply chain risk mitigation.
- Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing procurement teams, driving operational excellence, and supporting organisational growth in fast-paced, evolving environments.
- The credibility and leadership presence to engage effectively with executive leadership and the Board on procurement strategy, governance, risk, and performance.
