Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary health and safety representative for the client, ensuring contractors adhere to H&S regulations and contractual requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain H&S policies and procedures in line with UK regulations, including CDM (Construction Design and Management) Regulations.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Ensure compliance with industry best practices, ISO standards, and environmental health and safety (EHS) frameworks.
- Monitor and review contractor safety performance, conducting investigations and recommending corrective actions when necessary.
- Provide H&S leadership and support to internal project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies such as the HSE (Health and Safety Executive) and local authorities when required.
- Deliver training sessions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings to project personnel.
- Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of all H&S activities, including risk assessments, audits, and compliance reports.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in health and safety management within the renewables, construction, or energy sector.
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Chartered Membership of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy project risks and best practices.
- Experience in conducting audits, risk assessments, and accident investigations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software.
- Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
- Experience in large-scale wind, solar, or battery storage projects.
- First Aid and Fire Safety qualifications.
