Gülermak Renewables is pursuing an ambitious goal to become a leading international player in the net-zero industry, driven by a strong team and a commitment to technical excellence. To this end, we are forming a technical network of professionals to lead all engineering and technical aspects supporting the acquisition, design, execution, and operation of projects. These projects encompass various technologies, from solar PV to onshore wind and grid support technologies such as BESS.
Commercial Asset Manager is responsible for maximizing the financial performance of energy assets (such as solar, wind, and battery storage, including co-located projects) once they are operational.
The purpose of the role is to act as the link between the physical operation of the assets and the commercial/financial outcomes expected by investors, lenders, and stakeholders. This is a great opportunity to join us as a Commercial Manager at an early stage, establish relationships with energy market agencies, authorities, and companies, and set up reporting and procedures for operational assets.
What you’ll be doing:
- Track, report, and troubleshoot asset financial performance, including revenue generation, operating costs, and profitability.
- Administer offtake contracts (e.g., BESS contracts, PPAs, cPPAs, CfDs), ensuring compliance and notifying when fixed-term contracts are due to expire.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high performance standards.
- Ensure insurance policies are in place and maintained for operational sites, managing insurance claims when required.
- Identify and mitigate operational and financial risks associated with the renewable asset portfolio.
- Monitor the performance of our solar assets to ensure optimal energy production and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Build and leverage vendor relationships, including O&M providers, consultants, and contractors.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including finance, operations, and business development, to achieve company objectives.
What experience you’ll bring:
- Degree in engineering, renewable energy, business administration, or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in asset management, renewable energy, or a similar role, with a focus on solar energy preferred.
- Strong knowledge of solar energy technologies, plant operations, and performance metrics.
- Proficiency in financial modelling, budgeting, and performance analysis.
- Familiarity with asset management software and SCADA systems.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- The IAM Certificate or IAM Diploma from the Institute of Asset Management, or Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA), would be an advantage.
