Having recently expanded our in-house Technology team, we’re delighted to be growing it further by hiring another experienced Software Engineer. Build software that powers the UK’s largest guitar retailer. At guitarguitar, music is more than a product - it connects people, inspires creativity, and changes lives. As the UK’s largest guitar retailer and a Top 100 UK Internet Retailer, we continue to invest heavily in the in-house technology platforms that power every part of our business - from online and in-store experiences to logistics and operations.
We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing technology team and help shape the future of our award-winning platforms. This is a hands-on role where your work will be used daily by customers, store teams, and the wider business. This is a hybrid position based in our Linwood office. Collaboration matters to us, and we value building great software together while enjoying the process.

What you’ll be doingDesigning, building, testing, and maintaining features across our eCommerce and EPOS platforms. Working across front-end and back-end, delivering clean, scalable solutions. Translating real user and business needs into high-quality, maintainable code. Building reusable components and libraries to support future development. Participating in code reviews, pair programming, and technical discussions. Helping shape our engineering practices, tooling, and processes as we grow.
What we’re looking forYou’re a well-rounded software engineer who enjoys solving problems, learning new things, and taking pride in what you build.
Essential experience & skills- Commercial experience with C# and .NET
- Entity Framework and SQL
- React, JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript
- HTML, CSS, Sass
- Experience with code reviews and cross-browser testing
- Comfortable working in an Agile/Scrum environment
- ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core, Web API / REST services
- Razornpm, webpack
- Windows Server / IIS
