We are seeking a dynamic and committed Teaching Assistant to support our classroom teachers in providing classroom management within mainstream classes and in our Student Support Centre. The successful candidate will provide general support to Special Educational Needs children, promote access to learning as directed by the classroom teacher, and assist students with complex and challenging behaviours.

Responsibilities

  • Support classroom teachers with classroom management in mainstream classes.
  • Provide general support to Special Educational Needs children to promote access to learning.
  • Assist teachers in supporting students who display complex or challenging behaviours.
  • Work within the Student Support Centre to deliver pastoral support.
  • Engage, enthuse, and motivate students to achieve their potential.
  • Facilitate a flexible and positive learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Undertaken teaching or support work with both mainstream and Special Educational Needs pupils.
  • Good knowledge of pastoral support and student welfare.
  • Strong communication skills and a flexible approach to work.
  • Ability to work effectively with students who require individualised support.
  • Experience or willingness to develop knowledge of classroom management techniques.
