We have a new opportunity for a Repairs Surveyor to join our Guinness Property team. As a Repairs Surveyor, you will carry out surveys and property inspections and oversee the delivery of subcontracted repairs to ensure repairs are highlighted and completed in accordance with Guinness standards and timeframes.

Reporting into our Complex Repairs Manager, you will carry out surveys of properties within your specified region, including Damp Mould and Condensation inspections. You will be responsible for diagnosing the cause of complex faults and failures, and post-inspection works supporting Guinness Property to ensure high-quality, optimum works are delivered in budget, on time, safely and to a high standard whilst achieving and maintaining customer satisfaction KPIs and ensuring value for money is achieved through the delivery of effective procurement and management of repairs.

You will be experienced and knowledgeable in surveying properties, with great customer service skills and the ability to work autonomously to assess and improve property standards. You should have an excellent level of knowledge of building construction standards and legislation, and an ability to diagnose and specify remedies to building defects.

  • Experience in undertaking assessments in line with the Housing Health & Safety Rating System.
  • Ability to be proactive and work on own initiative, with limited supervision.
  • Experience in managing contractors.
  • Excellent standards of customer care and the ability to deliver accurate and clear communications in writing, face to face or by telephone.
  • Good IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, housing, and property management systems.
  • Full Driving Licence.
  • A good understanding of the context of social housing.
  • Educated to Level 4 (HNC in Surveying or Construction & Built Environment or equivalent) or higher.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Level 4 VRQ Certificate in Managing Damp, Mould, and Customer Care in Housing.
  • RICS (Building Surveying) or MCIOB membership.

Offers are subject to satisfactory driving licence and onboarding checks. This position will require a basic DBS check, which will be paid for by The Guinness Partnership.

Holidays: We offer 25-27 days holiday a year, plus bank holidays. You will also receive additional holiday in line with your length of service (1 extra day per 5 years service, capped at 4 days).
