Our Repair and Maintenance teams play an important role in delivering our vision of providing great homes and great service. They offer vital support, ensuring that our homes are safe, warm, and dry, and where everything works; places where our residents are proud to live.

We are looking for a Skilled Labourer to join our team covering Cornwall. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity, working 39 hours per week, Monday - Friday.

As a Skilled Labourer with Guinness, you will be required to carry out physical tasks such as clearing waste from day-to-day repair works and applying products that remove and treat damp and mould, in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines. You will also be supporting your colleagues by being the second person in paired jobs. You should have excellent customer service skills and the drive to make things possible.

This vacancy is to work in the Cornwall area and travel between sites will be required, therefore applicants should hold a full UK driving licence.

Key essential requirements of the role:
  • You must have experience in carrying out minor remedial building works.
  • Experience of working in a customer-focused environment and ideally within the social housing sector, where you have delivered a great service.
  • Proven ability to work methodically, achieve targets, follow agreed procedures and accurately record information.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, demonstrating organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to carry out physical tasks such as clearing waste and applying products that remove and treat damp and mould, in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Ability to operate safely, considering any environmental circumstances and possible risks.
