As we expand to our new flagship St James's location, combining speciality coffee with a sophisticated café and brunch environment, we are looking for a passionate and driven General Manager to lead operations and support the development of this new venue.

This role is ideal for someone looking to advance their career in the hospitality and speciality coffee industry. You will work closely with the Founder and Director of Operations to help bring the company’s vision to life, contributing ideas, taking initiative, and leading with ownership.

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the café and brunch service, including product quality, customer experience, and team supervision.
  • Hire, train, and supervise baristas, floor staff, and kitchen team members.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Oversee food and beverage quality, presentation standards, and service consistency.
  • Maintain strong inventory control systems to ensure proper stock levels and minimise waste.
  • Control labour costs, scheduling, and rota planning while maintaining operational efficiency.
  • Manage basic financial performance, including budgeting, reporting, and cost control.
  • Implement and enforce operational policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and improve equipment, facilities, and overall store presentation.
  • Support team development through performance reviews, coaching, and career progression planning.

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Café or Brunch General Manager (or similar leadership role). Speciality coffee experience is a strong advantage. Experience working in high-standard service environments. Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills. Experience in staff training and performance management. Understanding of KPIs, labour percentages, and basic financial reporting. Experience handling HR-related matters, including employee catch-ups and performance reviews. Strong business and financial awareness with the ability to support forecasting and cost control. Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills.
