Guildford Rugby Club is recruiting a Head Coach to lead the Senior Men’s programme into the 2026/27 season and beyond. This is more than a rugby coaching role. We are looking for somebody capable of helping shape standards, culture, leadership and long-term player development across the Senior Men’s section. The successful candidate must be committed to supporting Guildford Rugby Club’s wider “One Club” philosophy through positive engagement with players, volunteers, supporters and the broader rugby community.

A key responsibility of the role will be supporting the transition, development and ultimately retention of players progressing from Colts into Senior Rugby. The successful candidate will help establish high standards of behaviour, preparation, accountability and leadership throughout the Senior Men’s environment while also contributing to player recruitment, retention and the long-term sustainability of the programme.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Senior Men’s programme for the 2026/27 season and beyond.
  • Help shape standards of behaviour, preparation, accountability and leadership across the Senior Men’s section.
  • Support the transition, development and retention of players from Colts into Senior Rugby.
  • Contribute to player recruitment, retention and the long-term sustainability of the programme.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Sport, Chair of Men’s Senior Rugby, wider coaching team and the player leadership group.
  • Develop coaches, mentor younger coaches and contribute to building future rugby leaders within the club.
  • Engage positively with supporters, raise the programme’s visibility and build energy and connection across the wider club environment.
  • Support the Guildford Rugby Club’s One Club philosophy across Youth, Colts, Senior Rugby, volunteers and supporters.
