Families First Guildford is looking for a Team Leader to lead and manage the day‑to‑day delivery of emerging needs support in the borough of Guildford. This is a full‑time, permanent position (36 hours per week, with flexibility for a minimum of 30 hours across 4 days). The role will be based at the Guildford Nursery School, Hazel Avenue, and will involve supervising a team of Assistant Family Support Workers and, when required, holding a caseload of families.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the delivery of emerging needs support services

Qualifications and Attributes

  • Level 5 qualified in education, health and/or social care or equivalent experience in managing a related service
  • Qualified in leadership and management or willing to undertake a qualification
  • Good understanding of emerging needs support; positive, flexible, responsible and passionate about working with families
  • Strong team‑player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated and able to prioritise and manage a busy workload
  • Capable of working in partnership with parents and carers to reduce inequalities in children’s outcomes

Salary and Recruitment

  • Salary: PS8 scale £36,873 – £39,820 per annum (based on 36 hours per week)
  • Closing date: midday 22 June
  • Shortlisting will take place on 23 June
  • First round assessments: 24–25 June
  • Second round assessments: 1 July
  • Panel interviews: 13 July
