Overview
Families First Guildford is looking for Assistant Family Support Workers to join our team. The posts are full time for 52 weeks a year with flexibility for part time hours and job sharing (minimum 20 hours per week over 4 days). Both permanent and temporary contracts are available.
Families First Guildford delivers a joined-up offer of family resilience and safeguarding services for families with children 0 – 18 years (up to 25 years to support those with additional needs), based on local needs across a district & borough. We work across the borough of Guildford with our main site at Guildford Nursery School, Hazel Avenue.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate, in partnership with other practitioners and agencies, a range of outcome-based family learning and parenting programmes.
- Hold a caseload of up to 9 families; support needs of families with children who have additional needs.
- Lead high-quality groups for families and deliver evidence-based parenting programmes.
- Work in partnership with parents and carers to reduce inequalities in children’s outcomes.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in education, health and/or social care.
- Positive, flexible, responsible, inclusive and with a passion for working with families, particularly those with additional needs.
- Keen to make a real impact within and beyond the team; a team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Highly motivated with the ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload.
- Able to work in partnership with parents and carers to reduce inequalities in children’s outcomes.
- Able to lead family groups and support families with children who have additional needs.
- Able to deliver evidence-based parenting programmes.
- Full driving licence and use of a car required.
