About the business: Guild Bespoke Metalworks comprises a team of welders and fabricators who produce bespoke metalworks using traditional smithing techniques and processes that tell a visual story. Our workshops are located in the rural storybook setting of Stockbridge, Hampshire on the River Test.
Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Brass Worker/Coppersmith to produce custom brass and copper fabrications using a variety of tools and equipment. A strong understanding of working with brass and copper is essential, with experience in techniques specific to these materials. The ability to interpret engineering drawings and create precise fabrications is required. A methodical approach to work is crucial for completing complex projects to the highest standard.
Responsibilities:
- Produce metal fabrications such as architectural fittings, furniture and lighting using brass and copper according to engineering drawings and project specifications.
- Deliver completed jobs to specification within allocated timeframes.
- Collaborate with the design team on complex projects.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working with brass and copper in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Proficiency in techniques specific to brass and copper work (e.g., forming, joining, finishing).
- Ability to work in an organised and structured manner.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings accurately.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with different teams.
- Experience working with other metals such as steel or aluminium is an advantage.
Working Hours: 39 hours per week. Shift pattern: Monday-Thursday 8am - 5pm, Friday 8am-1pm.
