As a Senior Business Analyst at Guidewire, your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as a subject matter expert on London Market insurance, open market, delegated authority and reinsurance.
- Providing context and perspective to the Product Managers designing and prioritizing enhancements to our products.
- Attending conferences/seminars to stay current with market modernisation initiatives, understanding their relevance and influence on company strategy.
- Research of insurance industry questions, including interpretation and summarization of insurance manuals, regulatory filings, and publications from professional organizations or regulatory bodies.
- Helping implementation teams and Partners to understand and interpret the requirements being given to them by insurance carriers.
- Being the insurance expert who can help customers, prospective customers, engineering, QA, support, sales, and other groups with questions.
- Eliciting, analyzing, specifying, and validating the business needs of stakeholders, be they customers or end users.
- Collaborating with project sponsors to determine project scope and vision.
- Creating sample policies and validating test results to support application feature design.
- Diagnosing and reporting issues, following issues to resolution, and working with the development and services teams on workarounds.
- Documenting known issues and workaround for release notes.
- Participating in Guidewire events as SME.
Desired skills/experience:
- 5+ years of experience in the London Market insurance, Lloyd’s or Company markets.
- 3+ years of experience on the IT side of the P&C insurance industry.
- Experience working with London Market delegated authority systems for coverholder reporting or data standardization.
- Reinsurance experience, including ceded reinsurance solution capabilities and assumed reinsurance requirements.
- Technical capacity - you should feel comfortable understanding specifications and be able to communicate with the engineering team on technical decisions.
- Experience with market placing platforms.
- Familiarity with modern, rules-based, configurable software applications.
- Ability to translate high level requirements into actionable product features via user stories.
- Ability to manage complex initiatives with limited supervision.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Good decision-making and analytical skills.
- Ability to excel in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience with agile software development is a plus.
- A real passion for insurance, software systems and problem solving.
