About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Stores Supervisor to manage all aspects of stock and inventory control within a fast-paced manufacturing environment near Redhill. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the flow of materials through the store, supporting production operations, and coordinating subcontracted processes such as surface treatments. This role is key to ensuring materials are available, compliant, and processed efficiently, supporting both day-to-day operations and longer-term production scheduling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage receipt, inspection, issue, and storage of all stock and non-stock items
- Ensure all deliveries meet quality, quantity, and specification requirements
- Conduct regular and periodic stock checks to maintain inventory accuracy
- Track and expedite incoming goods to ensure compliance with lead times
- Monitor and manage stock levels to support production planning and avoid shortages
- Kit parts and allocate inventory in advance of scheduled assembly work
- Reserve materials for scheduled tasks and process unused items back into stock
- Maintain accurate records in the company's inventory control system (MRP/ERP)
- Ensure system data integrity and timely updates on all stock movements
Subcontracted Process Handling:
- Prepare and process all components for external finishing, such as anodising
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and accompanies dispatched parts
- Maintain system records for all items sent and returned from external processing
Health & Safety & Compliance:
- Follow and enforce Health & Safety procedures within stores and materials handling
- Adhere to COSHH regulations and manage substances hazardous to health appropriately
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and promote a safe working environment
Teamwork & Communication:
- Liaise closely with Production and Assembly teams to ensure timely material availability
- Support procurement with anticipated material needs or supply delays
- Complete all documentation accurately and promptly
- Contribute to a team-driven culture of quality, safety, and operational efficiency
- Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives
