Guided Talent are recruiting on behalf of a specialist engineering business operating within the automated security and access control sector. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to support installation, servicing, and repair activities across the UK, with future international travel opportunities.

- Salary: Β£30,000 β Β£40,000 (dependent on experience)
- Location: Crawley
- Contract: Permanent, full-time
- On-call rota: 1 in 6β7 weeks (paid overtime on top of salary)
- Travel: UK-wide travel and regular stay-aways

The Role
You will be responsible for the installation, planned preventative maintenance (PPMs), fault finding, and repair of automated security and access systems, including:
- Automated gates
- Barriers
- Bollards
- Road blockers
- Associated electrical and safety control systems
This is a customer-facing, site-based role requiring a flexible, professional approach and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, service, and maintain automated security equipment
- Carry out PPMs and reactive breakdown repairs
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and basic hydraulic faults
- Complete service documentation and reports accurately
- Work in line with health & safety and site procedures
- Participate in the on-call rota
- Travel to customer sites across the UK (and internationally when required)
Skills & Experience
- Electrical and mechanical engineering background
- Basic understanding of hydraulics
- Experience with automated, electro-mechanical, or access control systems
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability
- Comfortable working independently in a field-based role
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
Certifications (Desirable, Not Essential)
- CSCS
- IPAF
- PASMA (Training can be provided)
