Guided Talent is currently recruiting for an experienced Manual Turner to join our client, a reputable aerospace manufacturing organisation based in West London. This is an excellent permanent opportunity for a skilled Manual Machinist, Manual Turner or Toolmaker looking to work within a high-precision engineering environment.
You will be responsible for setting and operating manual lathes to manufacture precision aerospace components, working accurately to engineering drawings and exacting quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual lathes and associated machine tools to manufacture precision components.
- Produce components accurately to engineering drawings, specifications and required tolerances.
- Select appropriate tooling and make machine adjustments to achieve the required dimensions and finish.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, engineering specifications and manufacturing instructions.
- Carry out dimensional and visual checks to ensure components meet stringent quality requirements.
- Identify and resolve machining issues while maintaining productivity and quality.
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship throughout the manufacturing process.
- Work efficiently to meet production schedules and deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of the wider manufacturing team.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in manual machining, particularly operating manual lathes.
- Experience working as a Manual Turner, Manual Machinist or Toolmaker.
- Strong knowledge of setting and operating manual machine tools.
- The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to producing high-quality components.
- Good practical problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently and within a team-based manufacturing environment.
- Experience within aerospace, precision engineering or another high-tolerance manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
- Willingness to work the required rotating shifts of 06:30-14:30 and 13:55-21:55.
