Guided Talent is currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Machinist / Programmer to join our client, an established manufacturing business based in Sittingbourne, Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC professional who enjoys more than simply operating machines. Our client is looking for someone with strong CNC programming and machining experience who can take ownership of jobs, keep machines running efficiently and use their technical knowledge to solve manufacturing and production challenges.

The successful candidate will play a key role within the manufacturing operation, programming and running CNC machinery while identifying opportunities to improve machining processes, overcome production issues and maintain consistently high standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Programme, set and operate CNC machinery.
  • Create, edit and optimise CNC programmes to meet production requirements.
  • Run CNC machines efficiently while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and manufacturing requirements.
  • Identify, investigate and resolve machining and manufacturing issues.
  • Troubleshoot problems relating to tooling, machining processes and CNC programmes.
  • Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds and machining parameters.
  • Make programme adjustments and machine offsets where required.
  • Monitor component quality and ensure parts are manufactured to specification.
  • Support improvements to machining processes, cycle times and overall production efficiency.
  • Work closely with colleagues to resolve technical and manufacturing challenges.
  • Maintain a safe, organised and efficient working environment.
