Guided Talent is currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Turner (Nights) to join our client, a world-leading aerospace manufacturing organisation based in West London.
This is an excellent permanent opportunity for a skilled CNC Turner with strong Fanuc programming, setting and operating experience to work within a high-precision aerospace manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC lathes to manufacture complex, high-precision components to demanding tolerances and quality standards. Working on a permanent night shift, you will play an important role in maintaining production output while ensuring exceptional levels of accuracy and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Programme, set and operate CNC lathes, predominantly using Fanuc controls.
- Manufacture complex, high-precision components to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Create, edit and optimise CNC programmes at the machine.
- Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds and machining parameters.
- Read and accurately interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and manufacturing instructions.
- Work to tight tolerances while maintaining consistently high standards of quality.
- Carry out dimensional and visual inspections of manufactured components.
- Identify and resolve machining or programming issues efficiently.
- Make adjustments and offsets where required to maintain component accuracy.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant quality, safety and manufacturing procedures.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a highly skilled engineering team.
- Support production targets while maintaining a strong focus on quality and precision.
Skills & Experience
The successful CNC Turner will ideally have:
- Proven experience working as a CNC Turner, CNC Lathe Programmer or CNC Machinist.
- Strong working knowledge of Fanuc controls and programming.
- Experience programming, setting and operating CNC lathes.
- Experience manufacturing complex, high-precision components.
- The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Good understanding of machining processes, tooling and cutting parameters.
- Excellent attention to detail and a quality-focused approach.
- Strong practical problem-solving skills.
- Previous experience within aerospace, precision engineering or another high-tolerance manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
- Flexibility and willingness to work permanent night shifts.
Night Shift Pattern
The position operates on a permanent night shift from Sunday night through to Friday morning:
21:55 (9:55pm) 06:00 (6:00am)
The working week therefore begins on Sunday evening and finishes on Friday morning.
